Sunnies!

Commissioned to do a design for sunglasses.
opted to do a hand drawn sketch/pattern/doodle style.
Laser etched aluminum frames are a damn good idea...if this design does get used I might just buy a pair.

Traditional Paint

Today I am posting something different.
I finished up this painting this afternoon, its been on the aisle for a good while unfinished and got it done.

crawler update

Here is the updated version of the bulldozer/crawler with a crane i did earlier yesterday

Its slightly after 12 at the time of posting so technically I missed a day.... but I did paint this before 12 so it counts as a yesterday post. I don't count the day finished till i go sleep dammit.

Only had time for some linework today.
The usual wednesday DTP shlep at work has drained all my desire to create.

This is actually the beginnings of a commision job, Ill update with the end result later on sometime.

To go along with the globe icon I drew last night, today the client requested a telephone to go with it.

figure study practice!..boring...repetative..yes it is...but it helps you fix your weak points. and i feel mine is poses.

White on Black

A came across a great black and white photo today and decided to try and paint it a bit differently than usual. I tried to paint just the highlights on a black background.

Gives it an interesting effect.

The Wednesday drain

Wednesdays are my busiest "design" days, its extrememly draining creatvely and when i am done i really dont feel like creating anything. Plus I get no time to do any drawing.

But never the less!!! I knuckled down and did a quick cat drawing to get my daily quota, cant go wrong with a cat drawing now can I?

Turtle Study

A new project that i am thinking about has a turtle swimming in it.
Did a study of one today.

I might just continue with this exact sketch to be hinest the angle is very similar to what I was thinking.

Childrens Book continued

I thought i would do something more with the previous two characters i poster a few days back.

This was done rather speedily but i think the characters came out really well regardless.

And so it begins

My mission is to create some form of illustration/drawing/artwork every day of the year and post it here for anyone who might be interested to see.

As a graphic designer and Illustrator I have found that my Illustration side has taken a back seat to the more "mundane" design/layout side of my life. And I decided to do this in order to inject more illustration and art into my daily work even if there is no revenue for this "project" per se.

so...to kick today off i started a little childrens book style illustrtion. (actually i started it yesterday, but most of it was done today.)
